Corey Johnson warns of ‘faux’ letter circulating on layoffs at NYC businesses

A letter purporting to stipulate layoffs at each metropolis company is a faux, Metropolis Council Speaker Corey Johnson stated right this moment.

The alarming missive, which supplies an alleged breakdown of layoffs by metropolis company, seems on Metropolis Council letterhead with the purported signatures of Johnson and council members Daniel Dromm and Vanessa Gibson on the “funds negotiating group.”

“This letter is FAKE,” Johnson tweeted. “We help the employees who’ve stored our metropolis working by means of COVID, and need to work w/them to assist NYC rebuild even stronger.”

A letter is being circulated that purports to be from me, @Dromm25 and @Vanessalgibson figuring out company cuts by means of layoffs.

The bogus letter says a $9 billion funds hole  “leads us to the last word choice to terminate and furlough New York Metropolis workers for extra financial savings.”

It’s unknown who fabricated the letter, or who circulated it.

Oren Barzilay, president of town’s EMT union, stated he obtained a duplicate from “our delegates,” however it was unclear the place they received it.
